The Blossom Dress - Easter 2024
This year’s 1950’s inspired dress!
Each year I sew my own Easter dress, usually reflecting a 1950’s silhouette. This year I chose not to buy new fabric but to use this pale blush broadcloth I had with a white splotched pattern. I also chose ivory organza as an overlay for the bodice and a deeper pink broadcloth as the lining. In the design below, I sketched out additions of faux cherry blossoms, beads or sequins, a scalloped satin trim on the skirt, and decorative bias tape binding.
