Good afternoon!
This is another list of small items and updates on what I’m working on during this break.
First, if I neglected to mention it earlier, a change within Rise of Sirius, which you may have noticed a while back: Sergeant Bisia insisted on being renamed Biasi, so that’s a minor, if confusing, alteration that I will have to go back through and make sure is corrected.
Also on the writing front, while I’m taking a break from scheduled fiction, I’ve gotten a slight headstart on July’s Ransom serial, which is titled Ransom: Remnant of an Empire: #1 – Heart of Ice.
I’ve also unexpectedly started on the sequel to In the Shadow of the Lilac, making the series title Haunting Melody; I may post The Haunting of Sea-Glass Cove over the summer, as, despite taking place in February-April, it’s set along the coast of Maine!
I’m postponing submitting In the Shadow of the Lilac to my publisher for now, since I would like to try another publishing house, and if I submit the first book, I’m likely going to have to publish any sequels with the same house. Thus, the illustrating process is on hold until I know whether I have a second option.
I’m also slowly working on Rise of Sirius again, and am very much happy that, since all of my stories exist in the same “universe,” I can introduce occasional character cameos for my own enjoyment, and hopefully that of my readers, as well. Who, exactly, can show up in 1934? An excellent question, but you shall have to read it to find out!
The Sun Kingdom, meanwhile, is continuing to sit in time-out, as the story involves such an archive of lore and historical threads that I need more, perhaps even full, writing bandwidth to work on it.
Finally, taking into consideration how the 2025 season has been thus far concerning my available time for writing, I’ve been discerning making a change to Windflower’s presence, namely in available content for free subscribers, so please keep an eye out for an email in the next week or two regarding this. I expect that this transition will be going into effect during Easter week with the return of fiction posts. Thank you!
In the Hearts of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
